It’s that time of year again, where we all get together and argue over which Marvel characters are the best. Some people say Wolverine is the best because he can heal himself, others say Iron Man is the best because he has a giant suit filled with weapons, but what does this have to do with UMVC3? Well it turns out that UMVC3 characters have their own tier list as well! Here are some of my thoughts on how I believe these tiers stack up against one another:
The first tier contains Captain America and Deadpool. This tier consists of two very different characters who both excel in their own way. Captain America shines when taking down large groups at once due to his shield ability while Deadpool shines when taking down opponents one by one due to his many different attack types.
The second tier contains Iron Man and Wolverine. This is a much more clear cut comparison as both of these characters have the same weakness: they are very susceptible to rushdown tactics because their moves do not cover all that well in close quarters combat. However, when faced with an opponent who operates at long range (i.e., Magneto), there’s nothing better than having either of these two on your side for support!
The third tier consists of Storm and Spiderman, which again are quite similar but also differ just enough to make them difficult comparisons. Storm can electrocute enemies from afar while Spiderman has some attacks that keep him mobile such as web slinging and jumping.
Storm’s biggest weakness is her lack of close range attacks, making her susceptible to being rushed down by a high attack power character such as Iron Man or Spiderman. This can make it difficult for new players to play as Storm because they do not have the reflexes necessary to counter these types of situations. However with enough practice this disadvantage eventually becomes an advantage when you are able to defeat your opponents without taking damage at all!
The fourth tier consists entirely of characters who are considered below average: Black Widow, Hawkeye, Dr Doom, Phoenix Wright and Viper (who has been removed from UMVC). These four differ greatly in their strengths but continue share one common trait: they are very vulnerable when faced with.
1. Tier 1 – These characters are the best in the game and can beat anyone
2. Tier 2 – These characters are good but not as strong as tier 1
3. Tier 3 – These characters are average, they’re not bad but they’re just not great either
4. Tier 4 – The worst of the worst, these guys need some buffs to be worth using at all
5) Tiered Characters- Some characters don’t fit into any specific category because their strengths vary depending on who’s playing them or what team composition is used against them
6) Honorable Mentions- Characters that deserve a mention for various reasons (they have a really hard matchup against someone in tier 1, they have an unfair disadvantage due to something unique about themselves, etc.)
7) Misses- This list compiles all those who should never be played ever again and should probably just retire from fighting games forever (sorry!)
8) Pending Changes- We will update this list periodically when new patches come out with changes to balance things out even more so it’s always up to date!
9) Pros/Cons Listings for Each Character – This section includes pros and cons for each character listed in tiers above
UMVC characters:
X-23, Wolverine, and Deadpool are all strong. They’re in the same tier of power ranking as Spiderman or Doctor Strange.
Wolverine is one of the best rushdown character currently in UMVC due to his speed and good mixups (his b+m move feels like a cross between Magneto’s Magnetic Tempest from MvC Alpha/MvC Ultimate) with some combo resets available too off it’s high damage output. His healing factor also allows him to play recklessly since he can recover health by simply not getting hit for about 20 seconds without taking any chip damage which makes him difficult to take down if you don’t have an assist that deals chip damag.
1. Wolverine
2. Colossus
3. Storm
4. Magneto
5. Dr Doom
6. Iron Man
7. Vergil
8. Psylocke
9. Deadpool
Thanks for checking out our tier list! Keep in mind that this is just a rough draft and not set in stone. We will be accepting feedback, so please share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
The Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tier list is a list that ranks the characters based on their usefulness in competitive play. The tier list is updated annually to reflect changes in gameplay and balance patches, but it always includes all of the playable characters from the game’s nine-character roster. It’s important to note that there are many other factors besides character strength which can decide who wins or loses a match, such as player skill level, matchup knowledge, team composition strategy and more; these things should not be considered when ranking each character on this tier list. This article also does not take into account DLC content for UMVC3 and will only focus on what players have access to without paying for additional DLC content.
In the Marvel vs. Capcom series, there are 3 tiers of characters: high tier, medium tier and low tier. The fighting game has been out since 1998 and is still being played today for both casual and competitive players alike. UMVC3 (Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3) is currently in its third iteration as a downloadable title on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network with new content coming to it periodically through DLCs (downloadable content). This article will be covering the different tiers, some of their strengths/weaknesses, how they fare against one another in matches up to 4 people including 2 on each team, who’s considered top tier at this point in time and what you can do if you’re playing low or medium level character.
I’m just going to make this quick. I am a diehard Marvel vs Capcom 3 fan, and it’s time for me to release my UMVC3 tier list. In order, the tiers are: top tier, high tier, mid-tier, low-tier; all of these characters have their strengths and weaknesses that will be elaborated on in future posts.
